About Trey

Meet Trey Morris, Benefit Auctioneer

Trey Morris

Trey Morris has auctioneering in his blood. However, using his gift to support the work of nonprofits is what is in his heart.

Born and raised in Western Kentucky, Trey, who is the 2019 International Auctioneer Champion, grew up attending farm auctions with his father. While other kids were playing, Trey was glued to his seat, infatuated. At the age of 13, he found himself thrust onto the auction block to help the auctioneer who was having a coughing fit. Turns out, the coughing wasn’t real. The auctioneer recognized Trey’s talent at an early age and wanted to see it for himself.

“Dad said that’s the day the fire was lit,” Trey said.

Today, Trey can be seen on stage from coast to coast performing as a professional benefit auctioneer, emcee and entertainer who specializes in maximizing live event, in-room fundraising by increasing donor engagement. He has become a fixture on the microphone at events for some of the country’s most influential nonprofits including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, American Heart Association, Make A Wish, Celebrity Fight Night and more. Trey has helped raise millions in support of their missions.

Trey has shared the stage with the A-List celebrities, professional athletes and country music stars, but there’s no one he’d rather share the stage with more than the children and families who are impacted by the work of his nonprofit clients.

“I get to lay my head down on my pillow at night, and I’m proud of what I do,” he said.

In addition to his 2019 International Auctioneer Champion title, Trey is also the 2012 Kentucky State Champion Auctioneer and 2014 Canadian Champion. He served as announcer for Murray State University Basketball and as auctioneer and announcer for Barrett Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction®, which is broadcast live on Discovery Channel and MotorTrend+.

Trey Morris

He is an active and engaged member of the National Auctioneers Association and currently serves as the organization’s Ambassador for Kentucky. He is a graduate of the prestigious Certified Auctioneers Institute and has obtained his Benefit Auction Specialists and Contract Auction Specialists Designation.

Trey resides in Murray, Kentucky with his wife Kandis. When Trey isn’t on stage you can find him with Kandis riding their horses, at the lake, on the farm or traveling.

“I’m still blown away. I still pinch myself with the people I’ve met and the lives that we’ve touched,” Trey said. “It means something.”
